Services for Higher Education Faculty

Universities and colleges are ideal places for learning about citizenship. As an inter-university NGO, Ucoopia supports teachers in integrating social, environmental, political, and cultural issues into their courses through innovative teaching approaches.

Our goal: to educate conscious, critical, and committed citizens and future professionals who are capable of integrating these issues into their professional lives and society, whether they become scientists, doctors, architects, engineers, or any other profession.

To design and implement our interventions, we draw on our own expertise as well as that of the Uni4Coop consortium, whether technical, methodological, educational, or organizational. Some of these areas form the pillars of our work: agroecology, knowledge management, multi-stakeholder coordination, project methodology, etc.

Our global citizenship and solidarity education (ECMS) offering:

  • Occasional contributions from professionals in the field and the non-profit sector, from Belgium or other geographical areas, to break down barriers between different areas of knowledge.
  • Support in organizing thematic activities related to global issues
  • Support for the integration of citizenship issues into specific courses and disciplines
  • Co-creating new training courses related to global issues
  • The provision of educational tools that address specific issues of global citizenship (ecological transition, food sovereignty, debt, intercultural encounters, migration, etc.).
  • Service learning or learning through community service
  • Participation in consultation forums with education professionals
