WHO are the members of the WASOP programme’s InterUniversity Scientific Committee?
The Inter-University Scientific Committee (ISC) of the WASOP programme (West Africa Sustainable Ocean Programme) brings together ten experts from seven West African countries. They come from leading universities, research centres and scientific institutions.
Through their complementary expertise and in-depth knowledge of West African coastlines, the members of the ISC help to enhance the scientific quality of the programme’s activities, promote an interdisciplinary approach and support research aimed at the sustainable management of marine and coastal ecosystems.
Their areas of expertise include, in particular, marine ecology, biodiversity, integrated coastal zone management, forestry and blue carbon, the socio-economics of natural resources, environmental policy, biostatistics, maritime logistics, and the governance of marine and coastal ecosystems.
