Building capacity to increase impact in Guinea

In June 2026, the teams at Ucoopia Guinea gathered in Kindia for a capacity-building workshop attended by senior management, the Country Coordinator, the administrative and finance teams, project managers, subject-matter experts, field coordinators and drivers. The aim of this meeting was to consolidate the skills of the various staff members and to strengthen management capacities within the organisation. The workshop also aimed to harmonise working methods and to enhance collaboration between the different departments.

A time for discussion, learning and collaborative development

Over the course of several days, the participants took part in interactive working sessions combining strategic discussions, participatory exercises and the sharing of experiences.

Participants were thus able to share the challenges they had encountered in the field, identify areas for improvement, analyse new frameworks for action and work together to establish common benchmarks to enhance the coherence of their interventions. These opportunities for discussion also helped to strengthen cohesion between teams and foster collective intelligence in support of the projects.

Strengthening practices and tools

A number of key topics were discussed during the workshop.

In particular, the teams worked on improving the management of sustainable value chains developed in the Kindia region, such as beekeeping, agroecological market gardening and arboriculture.

Monitoring and evaluation tools have also been harmonised in order to better measure project outcomes and document the changes observed on the ground.

The workshop also provided an opportunity to put various facilitation and group-leading techniques into practice – essential skills for teams working in the field.

A joint roadmap for the way forward

This workshop marks an important milestone in the technical and financial alignment of the Ucoopia Guinea teams. Participants leave with enhanced tools, harmonised methods and a shared roadmap for future activities. The aim is to continue improving interventions on the ground whilst enhancing the quality of monitoring and the impact of projects.
