Campus in Action
Campus en Action is a joint initiative led by Ucoopia with other university NGOs from the Uni4Coop consortium (Ucoopia, Fucid, Louvain Coopération) and the International Relations department at UMons.
During an annual weekend in November, students from the six partner campuses come together to discuss a theme chosen collectively. In recent years, participants have explored topics such as the convergence of anti-racist and feminist struggles; environmental racism and climate inequality; and structural inequalities and ecological and social transitions.
The event combines participatory workshops, in-depth training sessions, and opportunities for discussion, allowing students to engage with the issues at hand. The aim is to equip and empower them so that they can then organize awareness-raising activities on their own campuses, with support from project managers at each university if they wish.
For the 2025 edition, the theme was the link between racism and armed conflict. We focused on media coverage of armed conflict and respect for international humanitarian law. Several committed speakers were brought in, including the Belgian Red Cross, Brenda Obimda from the Free Congo association, and the Zin TV team, who shared their expertise and critical analyses on this chosen theme.
